A footballer is putting the final plans in place for his religious wedding ceremony - to his ex-wife's niece.

No, you didn't misread that, a Brazilian football player is celebrate a marriage for the second time, and the lucky lady is related to his former partner and the mother of three of his children.

Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, better known as Hulk, is a winger for Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro.

The 38-year-old is known for his strength (hence the nickname), shot power, directness and lethal finishing on the pitch, but his private life has led to raised eyebrows.

Hulk was married to Iran Angelo from 2007 and 2019 after meeting in Japan, sharing sons Ian and Tiago and daughter Alice.

And just five months after they split, in December 2019, rumours started to spread that he began dating her niece, Camila Angelo, and they officially married in September 2020, while Hulk was playing for Shanghai SIPG in China.

According to Portal Leodias, the ex-FC Porto and Zenit St.Petersburg player will marry Camila in December, over four years since their civil ceremony.

The relation between Iran and Camila means that Hulk's bride was once his niece-in-law, with the situation being made even weirder with the fact that his children with Iran are actually cousins, albeit not by blood, to his new wife.

Hulk and Camila announced they were expecting their second child in December 2023, after their first child, Zaya, was born in April 2022.

New reports reveal that the couple's wedding ceremony will be held on a beach on the coast of Paraiba, Brazil, though an exact date has not yet been confirmed.

The former Brazil international played football in China from 2016-2020, ending his 15-year stint overseas and returning to Brazil with Mineiro.

If his club progress in the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup, leading them to compete in the FIFA Intercontinental Club Cup, the wedding may have to be delayed as their season would be extended.

Best known for his time at Porto, where he won the Europa League and four Portuguese titles, it was reported that Hulk actually came clean to his family about his relationship with Camila while playing in Shanghai.

A spokesperson for the forward said in a statement at the time: "Hulk called the parents and the brother of Camila and told them the truth.

"It was Hulk himself who made the information public because he had nothing to hide.

"His position is transparency and he wants to avoid lies and malicious comments."
